Winter covid wedding that was rescheduled three times

We started to publish real weddings just in February 2021. And we promised that we will not look only for stunning pictures and great wedding stories. And here is another one! Amanda did great with her winter covid wedding, and we ideally want all the brides to get comfortable with what we have because they will be happy anyway at the end of the day.

Pushed for a third new date to 2022 at our venue for renewal of vows and got married this past weekend! It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! And so sooo memorable with the snow, which happened to fall down worse as the ceremony went on!

Amanda and Sam’s journey together began in November of 2018. They both followed today’s trend of using online dating to find their perfect person. Amanda and Sam were only living a few miles away from each other in Annapolis when they matched on “Bumble.”

After an initial conversation, it ended up being almost two months before they actually met in person. It all began with a sushi dinner date and the rest, as they say, was history. The signs started piling up that this was much more than a simple connection. Not only did their families attend the same synagogue, but it seemed like every member of each family had the same name or birthday as the next.

Amanda moved in with Sam, and they quickly learned that despite him loving the Giants and her loving the Eagles, this would turn out to be a perfect fit. Like all growing relationships, Amanda is still trying to learn sarcasm, and Sam is still trying to remember to put away the dishes.

September 6th is one of the few days that neither family has a birthday or anniversary, so this will officially be Amanda and Sam’s day. They are very appreciative to have the love and support of their families and friends and look forward to seeing you all in September.

This throws a huge boulder in our plans. We took a serious step back and realized the situation the pandemic was presenting. We made the difficult decision at the end of March to postpone to May 1st, 2021.

Flash forward to January 1st, 2021, and we are in the same predicament we were before. Some family members had basically already decided they would most likely not attend the wedding in May. With the vaccines rolling out, we did not feel it would be our dream wedding in May anyway. After much thought and a lot of grey hairs later, on January 11th, we decided to postpone AGAIN to April 30th, 2022, but to legally get married on January 31st, 2021.

We didn’t want to wait any longer to start a family or deal with the unknown stress due to COVID. We figured if we postpone again, we can legally get married, renew our vows and celebrate with our dream wedding in 2022 with all of our family and friends. Cutting a 270 person guest list down to 50 deemed nearly impossible and not what we wanted anyway.

The week of January 31st, Maryland was expecting its first snowstorm of the season. This was going to stop our special day in no way, and we are so glad we followed through. Our ceremony began a little after 2pm, and there was already a solid layer of snow down on the ground.

We got married in my father’s backyard on the Chesapeake Bay, where my late mother always wanted me to get married. We had a zoom call set up for our bridal party, and some family and only immediate family were invited in person. It went perfectly, even if the snow did start really coming down mid-ceremony. We wouldn’t have had it any other way!
